What is Mud&Blood?

Mud & Blood: A Swamp Noir Fairy Tale is a unique blend of storytelling and music performance that sounds like a cross between Tom Waits and the Brothers Grimm. Created by Swamp Noir singer/songwriter Wesley Morgan, Mud & Blood is a song and story cycle consisting of thirteen songs woven into a single narrative full of blood, mud, and magic. Mixing fact, fiction, and fantasy, this show is unlike any other music show you have ever seen. This is cinematic, southern gothic at it's finest.

In the aftermath of a tragic flood, a newborn baby boy is found in the mud, wrapped in the arms of his recently drowned mother. Mud & Blood follows the life of this boy as he grows into a man in the backrooms of bars, brothels, and poker rooms. Bored of his life with the denizens of the criminal underworld, Our Man sets out on an adventure that brings him into contact with intoxicating temptresses and precious songbirds. Will Our Man find redemption, or will his past be impossible to escape?

Mud & Blood features a stellar cast of musicians and twelve original songs.

Wesley Morgan performs a dark blend of broken down blues, junkyard americana, and gritty country with sexy lyrics that dwell on the darker side of creation. He has performed for thousands while opening for Chris Isaak; and, he has opened for Jack White favorites Pokey LaFarge and the South City. He recently recorded his debut EP with Grammy Award winning engineer Oz Fritz (Tom Waits, Primus, Bill Laswell).

"Tom Waits & The Brothers Grimm mix it up in a dark & sexy blend of mythic music and storytelling."
